April Showers, Flowers, & Bugs
This month nature will explode in the classrooms. We will examine clouds, bugs, and growing plants. Our younger classrooms will learn about soft, crawl like bugs, and play with water. Our older classrooms will explore their world through cloud watching, observing bugs, and growing grass and beans. We will play with cotton balls and water to understand how rain clouds produce. The stories, "The Tiny Seed", "It looks like spilled Milk", "Bugs, Bugs and More", and "The Sky is Falling" will give us a fun understanding of our world through literacy. Math and science skills will build on graphing plant growth, counting, sorting, and classifying bugs, and learning about life cycles through sequential order. Dancing to the sounds of rain sticks, crawling through tunnels like bugs, and stomping like thunder will increase our large motor skills. Fine motor skills will be worked through catching plastic bugs with tweezers, lacing bug cards, and squeezing rain clouds.
Easter parties will be held on Fri. April 18. There will be a sign – up sheet to bring in items on your child's classroom door.
